Mònica Bulló, Director of TecnATox, Appointed Member of the AESAN Scientific Committee
The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has appointed Mònica Bulló, Director of the TecnATox Technology Centre, as a member of its Scientific Committee, a position she will hold for the next three years.
The AESAN Scientific Committee is the body responsible for providing scientific opinions in the fields of food safety and nutrition, as well as defining the scope of the research work required to carry out its functions. In addition, it coordinates the work of expert groups that conduct risk assessment activities within the framework of the Agency's actions, thereby making a decisive contribution to the protection of public health.
The appointment of Mònica Bulló recognises her long scientific career and her experience in food, nutrition and health, as well as the consolidated role of TecnATox as a reference centre for applied research in food safety and toxicology.
For TecnATox, this designation represents a significant strengthening of its institutional and scientific profile, reinforcing its participation in scientific advisory processes at the national level and opening up new opportunities for collaboration with regulatory bodies and expert groups.
Likewise, this appointment is of strategic relevance for the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), as it highlights the research excellence of its centres and their direct contribution to evidence-based decision-making in the field of food safety and nutrition.
With her incorporation into the AESAN Scientific Committee, Mònica Bulló will actively contribute to the development of public policies aimed at ensuring safe food and better protection of public health.
