TecnATox celebrates the III Annual Workshop connecting research and industry in food, health and sustainability

The Foyer Marià Fortuny of firaReus Events hosted the 3rd Annual Workshop of the TecnATox group on April 14th, organized by the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) with the support of REDESSA and the Reus City Council. Nearly a hundred experts found a space to seek synergies and opportunities for collaboration between local agents and researchers, promoting innovation in the areas of food, health and sustainability. The Mayor of Reus, Sandra Guaita, and the Vice-Rector for Social Commitment and Sustainability of the URV, Jordi Diloli, inaugurated the day, emphasizing the importance of these meetings for the generation of knowledge and the establishment of new connections with companies. The director of TecnATox, Mònica Bulló, introduced the session, structured in three blocks: nutrition and health; technology and innovation in health; and environment in health. This year, the presentation of a new spin-off «IngrediZymes Functional Solutions» promoted by the Nutrigenomics Research Group, the new Chair in Food, Health and Sustainability promoted by the Nutrition and Metabolic Health Research Group (NuMeH), together with Delafruit and REDESSA, has been highlighted. The event concluded with the presentation of awards for the best oral communication to Javier Mateu-Fabregat, and for the best poster to Miren Fisico-Echezarraga, followed by the closing speech by Josep Baiges, Councilor for Economic Promotion, Innovation and Knowledge of the Reus City Council.
