The NuMeH group receives €100,000 to research plant-based compounds that improve the cognitive health of companion animals
The NuMeH research group, part of TecnATox and recognized as a TECNIO Centre of the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), has secured €100,000 in funding to develop a research project focused on analyzing the effects of different plant-based compounds on cognitive performance and brain health in companion animals. The initiative, managed by the URV Foundation, has received funding through the competitive Nuclis grants promoted by ACCIÓ and will be carried out in collaboration with the company Biotech Tricopharming Research SL.
The project aims to identify plant-derived bioactive molecules with the potential to improve cognitive function and brain well-being in animals, with possible future applications in human cognitive health. NuMeH and Biotech Tricopharming Research SL will combine their expertise in nutrition, neuroscience, and pharmacology to develop innovative, evidence-based nutritional strategies within the framework of ACCIÓ's Nuclis grants, which support R&D projects with strong business impact.
