TecnATox will take part in the TECNIO 2025 Congress in Reus, where experts will discuss Catalonia’s model for science-to-business transfer
The TECNIO 2025 Congress will be held on November 11 at firaReus Events, serving as a key meeting point to discuss what kind of science-to-business transfer model Catalonia needs. Organized by the TECNIO Association with the support of ACCIÓ, the Rovira i Virgili University (URV), and the Reus City Council, the event will bring together researchers, companies, and institutions to strengthen the connection between research and innovation.
The Tecnatox (URV) research group will play a prominent role, with the participation of researcher Begoña Muguerza, who will represent the TECNIO agents from the Camp de Tarragona region. Tecnatox will showcase its experience in collaborations with companies, such as its partnership with Ordesa, which exemplifies how research can generate innovative and sustainable solutions with real impact on the region.
This initiative takes place within a thriving research and business ecosystem in the Camp de Tarragona, with several successful examples of technology transfer. In addition to the collaboration between Tecnatox and Ordesa, other notable initiatives include Nanochronia, a technology-based company spun off from URV; the catalytic depolymerization project developed by AMIC and Sorigué, which transforms plastic waste into fuels and explores hydrogen production; and Jolt Solutions, a spin-off from the ICIQ specializing in green hydrogen technologies.
The congress also coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Rovira i Virgili University Foundation (FURV), a key institution in linking the university with society. For a quarter of a century, FURV has promoted knowledge transfer, lifelong learning, and innovation, consolidating URV as a benchmark in transforming social and business challenges into opportunities for progress across the region.
