CCIA 2025 brings together eighty artificial intelligence experts in Valls, and Aïda Valls is elected as the new president of ACIA
The 27th Conference of the Catalan Society for Artificial Intelligence (CCIA 2025) was held from October 15 to 17 at the Hotel Fèlix in Valls. It was organized by the ITAKA research group from the Department of Computer Engineering and Mathematics at the Rovira i Virgili University (URV). The event brought together around eighty researchers and professionals in artificial intelligence from Catalan-speaking regions to discuss the latest advances in areas such as machine learning, language models, computer vision, and decision support systems.
During the conference, more than fifty oral presentations and posters were presented, showcasing applications of artificial intelligence in sectors such as health, tourism, education, and the agri-food industry. Among the keynote speakers were Susana Montes, president of the European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), and Magí Lluch-Ariet, from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Health).
The program also included an open session for companies, focused on technology transfer and co-organized with the RDI-IA Network, with the support of the Government of Catalonia and the Chamber of Commerce of Valls.
As part of the conference, Aïda Valls, a researcher from the ITAKA group at URV, was elected the new president of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA), taking over the leadership of the organization.
