Researchers from the LTSM group demonstrate the effectiveness of the FAB in the assessment of cognitive impairment
The Neuropsychology and Emotions Area of the LTSM research group (TecnATox, Universitat Rovira i Virgili) has carried out the validation of the Frontal Assessment Battery (FAB) in a Spanish sample composed of healthy individuals, patients with mild cognitive impairment, and patients with Alzheimer's disease.
This study provides new evidence of the clinical validity of this tool and demonstrates its usefulness both in screening individuals at higher risk of cognitive impairment and in assessing cognitive function deficits associated with Alzheimer's disease. The results obtained reinforce its applicability as a support tool in neuropsychological assessment practice within our sociocultural context.
This publication represents a step forward in the commitment of the LTSM group to advance in the evaluation of cognitive impairment and to contribute scientific knowledge to research and clinical practice.
