Session on FAIR Principles at the SETAC Europe 2026 Annual Meeting

As part of the 36th SETAC Europe Annual Meeting, to be held from 17-21 May 2026 in Maastricht, the Netherlands, the session "The FAIR Principles in Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry: Enabling Data-Driven Insights" will take place within Track 7: Moving Beyond - Cross Cutting Themes, Emerging and Transdisciplinary Topics.

The session will address how to apply the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) to data in environmental toxicology and chemistry- a key challenge to advance data-driven research and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. Initiatives such as the European PARC programme will be presented, which develops practical resources including metadata schemas, controlled vocabularies, and semantic models to improve data management and reuse.

Organizers invite the scientific community to submit abstracts on tools, strategies, and case studies that showcase the added value of adopting FAIR principles in exposure assessment, environmental and human toxicology, or risk assessment.

Abstract submission deadline: 26 November 2025.

The session is chaired by Stijn Baken (VITO, Belgium) and Vikas Kumar (BfR, Germany and IISPV-URV).
