Jose L. Domingo and Marta Schuhmacher rank among the most influential within Catalonia’s university system
The portal Research.com has published this year's edition of the Best Scientists by Discipline rankings, which recognize the most influential researchers in the world across 26 academic fields. A total of 62 researchers from URV have been included in twelve of these disciplines -three of them in more than one-, with a particularly strong presence in the field of chemistry, where nineteen researchers from the University are listed among the most prominent globally.
In addition, six URV researchers are ranked among the most influential at Catalonia's public universities in their respective fields of study. Among them, Jose L. Domingo and Marta Schuhmacher, co-founders of the TecnATox center, stand out.
The Best Scientist ranking is based exclusively on data regarding publications and citations, from which an index is calculated to classify researchers according to their influence within a given discipline. The data is sourced from platforms such as OpenAlex and Crossref, open-access databases that compile and provide access to large volumes of academic articles.
